PostSubject: Baby frames on special   Mon 17 May 2010, 3:57 pm

Target had some cardboard baby frames on special on the weekend - not sure if they still are, but I bought a couple.
They do have a small cardboad decoration on them but I am going to pull them off and do quilled decoration around the frame.

Great Idea, do you seal your work on the frames with some kind of glue or sealer ?

Thanks Bronwyn, you will have to share a pic with us as these would make nice baby gifts unlike the ordinary frames you get. I have a little pile here of frames....I am quite addicted to buying them and have this stash happening that needs to be looked at lol

I have picked up several from Sam's warehouse that are a nice size for poems

However, more recent times I have found 2 excellent size frames from a store called The reject shop. They are just a good deep frame (approx 2-3cm)with boarder with timber and glass. I tend to quill under the glass Paula so mine doesn't gets dust or ruined by the elements. Jocelyn had some gr8 tips for sealing the work not so long ago which might work well on the exterior quilled frame.
Has anyone made their own frames?

Karon

I had not thought about sealing / not sealing, Paula. You have raised an interesting point. I might seal the motifs before gluing them to the frame.
I have a few frames stockpiled too, Karon Laughing

I think sealing them they would last longer and maybe easier to keep them dust free, wouldn't that help to also do with the cardboard frame?.

Maybe. I would have to make sure I cover up the photo area, which has a plastic sleeve over it.
