Cards for men

Post by Quill Me on 2010-05-21, 03:25

A few people have said it is hard to think of topics for male cards/presents.
Maybe we can share some ideas.

I have done a card for my Dad with a tree and a family tree quote, as he is into genealogy. I used a tree sticker but you could do a quilled tree or a branch.

Another one I have done for my Dad, is a card with musical notes on it as he likes jazz music.

Hi Bronwyn,

Once I did a picture frame for my grandson and did some musical notes and they look fabulous. I also did a rocket, fire truck and bulldozer. They might be okay for an enthusiast.
You can also quill a larger car by find out the gents favourite car type. Say it is a Monaro

find a pic on the net and print it out. You can do coils over the pic just like Paula's ship. Speaking of ships, some guys like boating so a boat is an easy one to do. And for the traditional aussie male, a card of their favourite brand beer can/stubbie is always a hit lol

Another card idea I thought of for a football enthusiast - Make some goal posts and a football the shape of your particular code. Not sure whether you would quill the goal post or just do white strips. A little experimentation required there.
Also team jumpers in suitable colours

cards for men/boys

Post by Jean on 2010-05-22, 14:00

Hi,
Some ideas,
cricket stumps with bails and ball or even soccer balls. Tennis, basket ball, golf, football field with players and ball. Car wheels, stearing wheels, motor bikes. A bit of imagination can go a long way.
A lot of sports can be quilled.

You can even dress up a commercial card.

dressing a card

Post by Jean on 2010-05-24, 16:17

Hi,

Take a commercial produced card and add quilling to the image in areas that suit. You can do it with a lot of commercial cards. It makes them more personal and you can still have a verse (if the card has one).
