How do you overcome an aversion to a colour?

Post by Quill Me on 2010-07-21, 08:24

Just thought I do not quill much with orange paper and I was wondering if anyone else has a colour preference in their quilling.
If there is a colour you do not like how do you overcome that?

I am like you Bronwyn and do not like orange and have no idea how to change my aversion to this colour. I would use a very small amount of orange if I have a design with balloons or clowns but would not think of using it anywhere else. Maybe if I was into vegetables pumpkins and carrots come to mind but all my orange strips go on the table when I am occupying visiting children.

I do, however, have a favourite colour, sage green, which is usually my first choice. Even if I have decided to use another shade of green in my design I will quite often change it to sage green at the last minute. If I run out of sage green I get a little anxious and have to buy more as soon as possible.

Even I feel that orange color is difficult to match with other colors and the background . Maybe it will look good against a fawn , biscuit colored background, on white/ black it looks harsh.

What about an autumn theme? I seem to like using most colours however with orange I have a colour called sunburst. It is half way between a yellow and an orange. I just love it and tend to opt for it in place of yellow and orange as it is so vibrant.
You could google autumn images which I did and came up with this link

Just amazingly beautiful
