This is the hardest work - make an exact copy.Samples taken from Wikipedia.
Complex shapes made about 10-15 hours.

I agree, these vessels are fantastic!

I would like to know, do you use some kind of mould for the shape to build the quilling around?

No, I do not use ready-made forms. I sculpt of paper, as potter molds tableware of clay.
The size of my vases is 10-15 cm.
