Tidy quilling table

Post by Quill Me on 2010-10-20, 23:27

I am feeling very pleased with myself as I tidied up my quilling table yesterday.
It had got to the stage where there was hardly room for quilling!
I have put away all stickers , bits of paper, odd cards, blingy bits and thrown bits in rubbish.
I actually finished 7 cards yesterday but not all had quilling on them.
Now I am ready for Christmas quilling.

I did the same a few weeks ago. I have put everything into tubs now and am going to get one of those lap trays that people eat off with the comfy bean bag bottom to do my quilling on so I am not restricted to the table. I love these as they have a lip around the edge so nothing can roll off and you can put a rubber mat on them.
You can get a variety of shapes

Still deciding on which one, has anyone got some experiences with these

Karon

My mom makes me clean my area too often in my opinion. It's odd, I'm so neat in other areas and messy in others...Like, my closet sometimes has some clothes on the floor, and my dresser and nightstand has a few things on it, but my room is mostly clean all of the time. When we play card games, I'm always straightening the deck, my locker is pretty clean...But I hate keeping my crafting stuff neat! I love my work space, it's this huge desk my dad made for him for an office, I used to use this round wooden table, but he just uses his laptop on the couch, so basically it's mine! It's giant so all of my stuff fits on it Very Happy. Yeah...I prefer to have my stuff out. Getting it out again annoys me! The opposite annoys my mother....What's SO not neat is my quilling strips...they're in this plastic droor randomly in there. Basically, it's the colors I don't use that much! I try to use my strips from there before I use the "new" strips.

I love that quilling table makeshift thing, Karon! I should add that to my Christmas wish list along with the fringer (dang, those can get so expensive).

Karon

I have a few lap-tables but the one I like to use is the "Stable Table".

I live on my own and quill in comfort. I sit in my recliner chair with a small table on each side and I have a footstool with storage that holds anything I need which will not fit on the tables. The Stable Table has a non-slip surface, (sort of except when I stand up quickly to answer the phone and forget to grab the table) and it has a gutter around the edge which catches little bits and pieces.

About every 2 or 3 years I have to top-up the beans but then as I also use the table for working with my notebook and other tasks/craft, it is actually my first choice for nearly everything.

The Stable Table is not the cheapest option but then I do not think the price is that much more compared to other options and it is definitly the better product.

I use my desk as my quilling table. It is always so messy! I do tend to clean it up once a week and put everything away, so I can fit other things on my desk, but within a day, my quilling things are back out and the mess begins again Razz However, for christmas I am getting a new desk, a computer one that fits into the corner of a room. It has shelvves and drawers for storage so I think when I get that, having my quilling out and my laptop on my desk, will not be such a problem after all!

I did try quilling at the dining room table once, but I found the TV to be waaaaaaay to destracting Razz besides, I prefer to work alone, without any onlookers until I'm sure my work is fit for other eyes. Very Happy
