Yay! I must share.

Post by quillingsavy on 2011-01-05, 05:41

So, for Christmas, I got a fringer! Just had to share!

It's nuts how much they cost...I think my parents got me this 50 buck one (I had to show them the exact site to get it from, LOL), now I won't have cramped hands again from fringing (I'm awfully good at it, but it HURTS if you need to fringe a lot).

I finally figured it out after staring at it a little while. Turns out my mind doesn't think in the "righty tightly lefty loosy" terms. I think in terms of which direction I turn the screw, so it's the opposite....Wow, me, WOW.

The thing is I don't have "tweezers" so I used my hands and the screw to get it in. Annoying how it jams when the paper gets ever so messed up though. But once it's in, it's like chop chop chop....

Do you have a fringer? Do you love it? How long did it take you to figure it out once you tried q mark?

Wow, a slap in the face. LOL. I looked through it, and the little L shaped small component wasn't on it, so it wasn't working at all, LOL. And at times it jammed cause it was hard to get it in in the first place...

I have always had a lot of trouble with mine too. I have to play with it some more. Someday I will get the new Jonathan Mayne one.

The Jonathan Mayne new models should come out soon and yes, it will be a lot easier for everyone as they don't have problems like some other ones because of their construction. His current one is really good too and the new one will be working on the same mechanism though fully enclosed yet have a lot more features. He has a complete satisfaction policy, if you are not happy you get your money back. Can't argue with that

If you haven't seen it Rachelle there is a big post with a pic from October I think. The forum got the only sneak preview of it. Goes down to do 3mm which I can't wait for as the current one only goes down to 6mm.
Most Fringers can be fiddly things anyway and take a bit of getting use to. Just email me and tell me exactly what it is doing and I will let you know what adjustments you can try as I have fixed heaps

Yo everyone! Smile I don't know how much the 45 degree fringer is used...but wouldn't it have been cool if there was some way that JM could have made his fringer to do both? Like maybe a switch or something to make it go from straight to angled?
Maybe I'm just totally goofy...ok ok...I am...but I think that would have been something different and useful?
