Sydney Craft and Quilt Fair

Post by Jocelyneliza on 2011-06-13, 04:40

The Craft and Quilt Fair is on at Darling Harbour 22 to 26 June. Anyone attending? I know that crafters from all over the State travel to Sydney for this. Laughing

There are some workshops I want to attend and I hope to be able to get through them all in one day. There is an embossing machine I want to check out, do not know if it is a really new product I hope it is not too exciting because then I would buy it(!) maybe call it an early Christmas present. santa

Paula, I love attending craft shows and I will let you know if I see anything new and interesting. Sometimes items do not arrive in Australia as soon as other countries so new to me may not be new to others but I will still let you know what I see.

Bronwyn, Seniors Cards are wonderful, I have had mine for 12 months. You then have the Craft Expo in October to look forward to (it is a pity these two shows are so close together).

Hi Jocelyn
I have been to the craft fair before but have not seen any quilling there. It would be good to hear if quilling puts in an appearance.
The patchwork quilts are fantastic though and there's lots of other fun things.

Hi Ladies,

Jocelyn I am heading out their tomorrow.

This is the craft fair that I use to help organise, so I am looking forward to getting back there and checking it out from a visitor's point of view.

I just hope my little 4 month old son will allow me to have a good day!

You will not believe it but I did not get to the Craft Fair.

Had a bit of drama a week ago when some #$%&@## individual broke into my unit THROUGH THE ROOF at 3am and I had to escape (literally) It finished up being a 5 hour seige with him. I am physically O.K. but mentally scarred and am not living there at the moment. I have been back for clothes and my laptop and others cleaned up the mess for me after the police released the crime scene. Have taken the option for counselling from Victim Support Unit just in case I go backwards.

Anyway the worst thing is I did not get to the Craft Show and I love my Craft Shows. Did anyone go to the show? Please tell me what I missed. Am seriously considering visiting Melbourne when the show is on there.

Sending you a hug Jocelyn. What a horrible experience. I'm glad you can get counselling for it, if you want it, since you probably will have some post traumatic stress. I remember when my husband got robbed by a couple of men at gunpoint with semi-automatics, it took him a few years before he could even watch police shows afterwards. He could have used some help.

I hope you make it to the show in Melbourne. You certainly have earned the vacation and the distraction.

Jocelyn!!! Glad you're physically okay! Take it slow with the mental stress part..take time to heal!

Okay...I just didn't have the time...so I didn't make it to the show either! Very Happy I don't know how far Melbourne is from you...but to help put this incident in the past...I think you need to go go go to the craft show there!!!

Oh my!! Such awful stories. I hope you are feeling ok Jocelyn. How scary for you.

I did make it to the craft show and I am trying to put togethe a post on the things that I found. Will hopefully post it by the end of the week.

Jocelyn, I also have a copy of the Exhibitor List and workshop guide if you would like me to send you a copy. The Sydney and Melbourne shows are normally quite similar and it would give you a bit of an idea as to what will be at the Melbourne show. Please let me know or send me a personal message with your address.

Take care Ladies.

Just thought I would let you know that I have been back home for a week now and settling in gradually. My main problem is that my sister and her husband cleaned up the mess and I am now having trouble finding things, like clothes and some of my craft stashes.

At least it gives me something to do but I am not going to be able to make the Craft show in Melbourne. Will just have to wait for February to come around for the Sydney one.

Thank you all for your concern and thoughts during this time.
