Copying off the Internet....Beware!

Post by KrazeeLdy on 2011-06-17, 23:02

Just sayin'! I've noticed that a couple of people keep stating "Use or copy images / patterns off the internet"....well...I'm not sure about other places but in the United States there are laws. Copyright laws - moral laws - plagiarism...check 'em out on Wikipedia.

Just because it's on the internet doesn't mean you can "copy" and use it. It does belong to someone else. Be wary of what you chose to "copy" off the internet!

Most images will have a little notation saying:
"This image may be subject to copyright".

Most, if not all, webpages are "copyrighted" to the owner, look around the website..and there will be something about the copyright of the webpage.

I was going to use an image on a "public" and widely used website, it stated it was copyrighted...I asked the owner for permission to use it and she said no. So..beware!

Karon has written about this before. But I thought I'd put it out there again.
