it does tend to get quiet here, I'm sure everyone is busy quilling, lol, they may have alot going on.I've been busy quilling butterflies, flowers, frogs, ladybugs, ect. and making magnets with them, stocking up for any arts and craft shows. havent posted here in awhile, but you can check them out on my blog.

Im glad you are all OK. I dont like Christmas at all as I find it very lonely time. We have no family so know we will be on our own so just treat it like a normal day.

Friends I will light a candle for you.

Our Christmas will be different this year as my mother is coming down from the country to be with us. Dad died earlier in the year so it will be hard for her.

When I lost my husband and my daughter was and still is in Canada. Although I have many good friends but I still felt empty at Christmas time. I thought to myself there are so many people that are worse off than I, so I joined a group of people and we cooked and backed cakes for the homeless. It was a great pleasure to see their faces light up, believe me it made me feel good, and it helped me to get through the emptiness of losing my husband and not having my daughter around me, plus the fact of going through treatment for cancer. Helping others can overcome ones pain and emptiness.

Our Christmas is lonely too. Just my husband and I and my sister and brother in law left in our family. It just doesn't have the same magic that it did in the past. I've been giving quilling a bit of a break and will get back to it again in a couple of weeks. It probably is too late this year but next year we should plan a Christmas card exchange for our group. At least we could decorate our houses with cards then and it would be a good way to connect with our quilling friends.

Toye, I don't know where your daughter lives but you mentioned coming to Canada next Christmas. I'd love to get a chance to meet you.

I am well Helen, thanks for asking.
