In the Florian Papp book showing antique quilled pieces, there are bits that look similar to "beehive quilling" but one cannot tell if only one strip of paper has been used as in this new technique.

I tried the beehive technique today - need more practice.
I just had a thought today, the curly scrolls remind me of cornelli work in cake decorating.

I find a slotted metal tool works best. I tried a plastic one first for the beehive technique.
