New to quilling and this forum too!

Post by ashleighjane on 2012-01-07, 01:46

I was introduced to quilling through a work placement I had to do for college a few months ago. (They had a card making session)
I immediately went home and googled it and found the idea interesting.

However I never really got into it myself and instead had ago at jewellery making, before giving up on that too.

I received (well bought and made my dad pay for Wink ) a quilling set for Christmas this year and so decided to search for quilling tutorials on youtube, where I found a tutorial for 3d cacti. So now I have a mini 3d cactus in the window Very Happy
Now Im just about to have a go at making a teacup Razz

Earlier today I also delved back into my jewellery making collection and made my mum a necklace Cool So hopefully soon (when i figure out how) I'll make some quilled jewellery too.

Now this post is probably a lot longer than it should be, so I'll get started on my tea cup!

Thanks for your welcome Sheree Smile

I already feel addicted. I very often stop up til the early hours of the morning when I shouldn't, and quilling is now another reason to do so Wink

Oh, it wont be. I think I'll stick with this forum even if I just lurk and accidentally vote down people's posts as I did earlier Embarassed
Unfortunately i don't have a camera, and my phone is temperamental when it comes to putting photos onto my computer, but tomorrow I'll see if I can upload a picture of my cactus since it's the only piece of quilling art I have so far Laughing

Thanks toye Smile
I must ask - where does your username come from?

Oh, I know what you mean about the days not being long enough, especially with College. However, I finish college on 23rd June (or maybe before) and I don't expect to find work straight away, so I'll have spare time to quill some more Very Happy

So far it's been good, mostly because one of our tutors has been off so I got to have a lay in two days last week Wink

I hope 2012 is a good year for you Very Happy
