up to my eyes in eggs

Post by toye on 2012-02-29, 14:27

The poor chicken cannot seem to lay her eggs quick enough, lol! here are just a few that i have done. on the 23rd of March i will be doing the show in a very small village near me (Böckter), so most of my time is at the drawing board, no time for the (Basler Fastnacht)

The small eggs i used 2mm strips, that was all thumbs and no fingers

They are wonderful. I am just wondering what kind of eggs they are and have you pins in them. I wish I could see you things for real.

Thank you Helen and Sheree for your kind words, Helen the eggs are steroboard one can get them in all sizes, They are good if you are making Quilling tight curls and making a small cone with the clue it does not stick too well, to make it more interesting i put a small bead then the pin that makes it more sturdy and stays in place. Sheree the 2 mm strips you can order at the www.creativequilling.com.au or anywhere that they are selling Quilling strips, if you cannot get them just let me know. Yes the 2mm is a little ichie bichie but i get it in the end.
sunny that is the weather which we are having right now woooopie, I have to get my table and chair out onto the terrase

Hey Toye! Very Happy
Thanks for the info!! Smile I'll look for them..but..um..I have those thumbs when working with the bigger strips..I don't know if I could work with them so small...although they would work better in those watches!

I absolutely love your eggs...hhhmm...I have some styrofoam eggs...maybe I'll have to try one!

HUGS TOYE..(did you feel that hug..it was a big one) Very Happy

Hi Helen, I must say that is a little tricky. But take about 12cm ribbon join the two ends together, where you joined the ribbon place that flat on top on the egg, using either a pin with a pearl top or take a pin and place a bead and pin that down over the joined ribbon you can also make a tight curl either make a small cone or have it flat. If you can find a 2mm ribbon that would be better than a 3mm. Good luck

Helen...
The ribbon is likely attached as Toye described - with a small bead with a pin inserted.

Helen, you can buy the eggs in the poundshop - a pack of 12 polystyrene eggs for - yes £1. They are great for quilling.

When I'm able to, I'll post photos of the two I've made.

Kat,
You can post right into your "comment" you don't have to put it in the gallery...If you want...
But you'll have to get the instructions on how to do that from someone else...I have a terrible time trying to get a photo into my comments....

Just...letting you know Smile

Busia, that's a lovely egg - how do you make the empty ones? I can only make them by sticking the quilled shapes onto a polystyrene egg - I'd love to make an empty one.

I glued quilled elements on the egg wrapped in food foil Smile I took off both half's from the egg after they done Smile. Elements don't glue to the foil so they took off easy... I made two half's and at the and I've glued them together Smile.

I used 0,15cm strips Smile

Sorry for my English but I don't have to much practice :/
