Quilling strips

Post by Kat on 2012-03-16, 17:39

Is there a cheaper and easier way to get quilling strips?

I did buy a few packets, but now cut up coloured paper with my X cut board.

We do have a shredder but it's a cross cut one so doesn't do long strips.

I've seen some hand shredders quite cheap, but someone said the edges of the paper don't come out nice and clean cut, they are a bit jagged - which my X cut board does sometimes and it looks awful.

Any other ways to make strips?

If you have a cricut machine (or a different personal cutting machine) it can be done that way. I have cut strips using this method and they come out perfectly straight and clean edged.

Hi Kat, I tell you what I do. I buy the paper A4 or larger and the colours i need and take them to a copy shop and let them cut to the size i need.just make sure you have round 500 sheets 90gr then it would be worth it. Here i only pay 10Sfr.Or if you know a printing shop get them to cut your paper, i got free cuttings o.k they where in white but sometimes they have coloured cuttings. what I mean by cuttings they have to trimm off the flyers they have printed and they put it all in a bin. there is another way, a pasta cutting and rolling adapter, i have seen this on the internet good luck

Thanks for the replies Smile

I have a Big Shot, not a cricit etc, so don't think I can do it on that.
